If Isaac’s right kidney is functioning at above 30% then that’s good, and he will likely need to have a surgery to prevent further urine reflux in hopes of preserving his remaining kidney function.
If Isaac’s right kidney is function at under 30% then we’re choosing to also view that as good because surgery will not be necessary at this point. We’ll simply consider the kidney lost and move forward with the knowledge that he just has one functioning kidney. If his blood pressure ever becomes a problem then he will need to have surgery to remove the non-functioning kidney, but as of now his blood pressure numbers are good.
Please be praying for:
- Isaac to handle the test and recovery well. The test requires general anesthesia which always makes parents a little nervous when they’re so little, and he will be in some pain for a few days following the test.
- Doctors to have wisdom as they advise us. We’re really hoping that the test will make it crystal clear with how we should proceed so we’re no longer “on the fence.”
- Parents to have peace and wisdom as we care for our little guy through this journey.
Thank you for your love and prayers!
