Christian's Chinese Speech Competition

4/22/2013

Saturday Christian participated in LIALC's Chinese School speech competition.  All the 1st grade students recited a portion of Corinthians 13.  So proud! :)

Abbie Counting to 20

4/22/2013

Abbie is learning to count to 20, but she always says "11" instead of "7" and it goes downhill from there.  It's understandable - 7 and 11 rhyme, right?  I never want to forget this cuteness. :)

Christian Roller Skating

4/19/2013

Last weekend Christian went roller skating for the first time.  Michael, one of his best friends from pre-school, was there too which made the afternoon all the more special. :)

Christian's First Class Field Trip

4/19/2013

Christian left for his first class field trip this morning! They are off to the planetarium and aerospace museum. :) Christian was so excited to wear his school t-shirt and have his lunch packed in a brown paper bag. It's the little things that make us smile around here. :)

Isaac kept bending backwards so he could look into Daddy's eyes. Precious. :)

Isaac's First Bath

4/10/2013

Tonight Isaac had his first real bath in the tub.  At first he wasn't too thrilled, but as soon as Daddy started washing his hair he totally relaxed.

Isaac - 3 Week Update

4/10/2013

Isaac is now three weeks old!

Growth:  At birth he was 8 lb. 15 oz. and 20 in. long, and now he is 9 lb. 7 oz. and 21 in. long.  He has outgrown his newborn clothes and is in 0-3 month clothes.

Allergy:  We've discovered Isaac is allergic to Zinc Oxide - the basic ingredient in diaper rash creams.  Since then we've been avoiding Desitin and only using A&D and a special prescription cream three times a day.  He's doing much better, but his little bum his still recovering.

Sleeping:  Isaac is a great sleeper.  He usually only wakes up twice a night to quickly nurse and then goes right back to sleep.  He can sleep through anything (a necessity when you have a 4-year-old sister and 5-year-old brother running/playing/shouting/squealing around you all the time :).

Temperament:  Isaac is a super easing going baby.  He rarely fusses - usually just when he's hungry, tired, and occasionally if he just wants to be held.  He also fusses during diaper changes, sponge baths, and if he's taken outside and it's windy - basically he doesn't like to be cold.  He loves to be snuggled which Daddy and Mommy love too. :)

Eating:  Isaac is a fabulous nurser.  He usually eats every 3-4 hours, and he takes a bottle easily if Daddy is watching him while Mommy is out.

Almost every time after nursing Isaac gets the hiccups for around 20 minutes.  He's such a brave little trooper through them though. :)

Abbie's Lullaby

4/10/2013

Abbie loves to sing to her baby brother.  Before Isaac was born, Christian and Abbie were in the car listening to a Steve Green CD.  They heard the song "You Knit Me Together" from Psalm 139:13-14, and claimed it to be "Isaac's Song."  The words are "You knit me together in my mother's womb.  You knit me together in my mother's womb.  I praise You.  I praise You.  You knit me together in my mother's womb."
