Who's Who?
One of these pictures is of Christian and the other picture is of Isaac. Who's Who? Answer: Top Picture - Christian and Bottom Picture - Isaac
Abbie and I went to see the Cinderella Ballet today! We had a fun Mommy/Daughter afternoon together. :) In our seats waiting for the ballet to begin Watching the Cinderella Ballet Abbie and her friend, Bella, standing on stage after the ballet Abbie with the Fairy Godmother and two Step-Sisters after the ballet Daddy feeding Isaac Christian and Abbie entertaining their baby brother. Beautiful Eyes We're going to do our best to take a picture of Isaac on the 20th of each month to watch him grow throughout the year. Here's picture #1. :) Today we brought Isaac home from the hospital. Daddy was especially glad to spend time with Isaac because he couldn't come to visit us in the hospital yesterday because Christian and Abbie had caught pink eye. We are so happy for our family of five to all be home together!
Below are the reasons behind our little man's name(s). Our prayer is that he will be a joyful blessing to others, and he's doing a great job already. :) Isaac “Laughter” We chose the first name “Isaac” in honor of the Biblical character Isaac. Isaac was a surprise to his parents in their old age. He brought them much joy and “laughter” as the name literally means. He was the child of promise. Isaac was the child through whom the nations of the world would be blessed and ultimately through his line the Savior of the world entered the world. Our hope and prayer for Isaac is that he will be a man who loves to laugh and is a joy to all who know him. We hope that he will be a man who blesses others and shares the good news of our Savior with others. Timothy “Honoring God” We chose the middle name “Timothy” in honor of our friends' son, Timothy. In November Rachel and her friend living in China began corresponding about their pregnancy difficulties as they were both experiencing similar bleeding complications. In early December our friends lost their precious little baby boy whom they had named Timothy. Daddy and Mommy decided to give Isaac the middle name “Timothy” in honor of our friend's son. We want to always remember their sweet baby boy’s life. Some days parenting can be extremely difficult, and on those days we often find ourselves using our children’s full names. Whenever we say “Isaac Timothy” we want to remember how blessed we are to have our little man with us. Timothy's life may have been short, but we will always remember him and God used his life to remind us how blessed and privileged we are to be Isaac’s parents. 福 愷恩 Fu Kai En “Joyful Blessing” Our family’s last name is “Fú” meaning “Blessing from God.” “Kǎi” means “Joyful.” “En” means “Grace,” and is also part of Christian's Chinese name “Fú Cóng En” so we're following the Chinese tradition of keeping one character the same in our sons' names. The full meaning of Fú Kǎi En can be explained as a “Joyful Blessing from God.”
Isaac Timothy Vruggink was born this morning (3-20-13) at 4:14am. He weighed 7lbs, 15oz and was 20 in long. Happy birthday Isaac! Click here to see the pictures taken by the hospital.
No major news today - still 2 cm dilated with baby's head at -2 and no contractions, so Baby V #3 seems content to remain in his mama. He is now 7 lbs and 9 oz - our biggest baby by far. His due date is this Saturday, March 23 - so hopefully in the next week he'll decided he needs a change of scenery. :)
This morning I started feeling really really really uncomfortable. My stomach and back hurt - not just the normal slight aches but true pain. This is most likely because my stomach is being stretched farther than ever before and my back is holding more weight that ever before, due to our little man's big size. So I'm definitely ready for Baby V #3 to come on out now - he can get bigger outside the womb but mama can't take much more growing inside of her. :) Baby V #3 is due to arrive in just 12 days!
Today at our sonogram we saw our little man and as expected he's still head down and face down - just perfect for delivery! He is now a whopping 7 lbs! He should gain 1/2 lb each week until his due date, so we could easily have an 8 lb baby boy if he goes full term which would make him our biggest baby. Christian was TEN DAYS over his due date and was born weighing only 7 lbs 1 oz. Abbie arrived the day before her due date and was our tiniest baby. She was born weighing only 6 lbs 11 oz. So Baby V #3 is most likely going to be our biggest baby by far! At our OB/GYN appointment today, the doctor informed me that I'm 2 cm dilated and still 50% effaced, so not much progress this week. Baby V #3 seems content to stay tucked inside until closer to his due date which is fine with me as long as he doesn't get too big to push out! :) Thank you for your continued love and prayers for us and our littlest man! Baby V #3 is due in just 19 days!
Today our OB/GYN told me that I'm 1.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced, so we are starting to move in the right direction. (You have to be 10 cm dilated and 100% effaced to deliver.) My doctor told me to make sure my bags are packed just in case Baby V #3 decides to make an early appearance. :) We have our next OB/GYN appointment and sonogram set for one week on Monday, March 11th. |
