If you come visit us on Long Island (hint...hint friends :), then we'll most likely take you to Fire Island. We'll walk about 1/2 a mile on the boardwalk through grasses to get to the lighthouse and then we'll walk back to beach for a fun time of sand and ocean playtime. One of my favorite things about living on Long Island is that NYC, the ocean, and apple orchards are all less than an hour away depending on whether you drive west, south, or east. :)
To celebrate Christian's 5th birthday we had a Pirate Party! Invitations When the kiddos arrived they received pirate tattoos, bandanas, eye patches, and swords. They had a lot of fun playing in the "pirate ship," digging for gold coins hidden in the sandbox, and playing in the sprinkler and pool. The little pirates then went on a treasure hunt and discovered their treasure boxes filled with pirate booty and a pinata treasure chest. Pinata Treasure Chest Eating Lunch Treasure Map Cupcakes Presents On the 4th of July we went outside to catch fireflies and watch fireworks. Christian was much more interested in catching the flashing lightning bugs then seeing the flashing lights in the sky. First Catch - Could his smile get any bigger? :) Oh my goodness! The bug moved! Enough holding - let's put this firefly in the bug catcher where he belongs. Lots of catches - Christian snatched 10 lightning bugs! My Pro Firefly Catcher :) |
